Netflix announces 1950s Stranger Things prequel 'Other Worlds' set in Nevada for 2028

Netflix will release a Stranger Things prequel titled 'Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure', set in the 1950s in Nevada and due in 2028.

Netflix announced a prequel to the series Stranger Things called Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure. The project will be set in the 1950s and is scheduled to premiere in 2028.

Outlets reporting the announcement say the new story will relocate the action to Nevada, shifting the franchise's timeline and setting away from the original series' era and location.

Coverage to date has focused on the prequel's title, its 1950s setting and the planned 2028 release in Nevada. No additional production details have been published alongside that announcement.

It is not yet known who will star in the series, which writers or directors will lead the project, or the exact release date in 2028.
